User onboarding
This guide covers everything a new team member needs to do from first login to everyday use. Follow the steps in order. The entire process takes approximately 15–30 minutes.
Onboarding steps
Use the table below as a personal checklist. Once all five steps are complete, your account is fully configured and ready for daily use
| Step | Action | Page |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Activate your account — accept the invite and set up your login method | Account activation |
| 2 | Install the browser extension and mobile app | Install tools |
| 3 | Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) | Security setup |
| 4 | Save your first password and use autofill | Basic operations |
| 5 | Find and use passwords in shared company vaults | Access shared vaults |
What you will be working with
Vaults are top-level containers for credentials. Your organization maintains company vaults shared across teams, while you may also have a private vault visible only to you.
Vaults contain folders — nested directories your manager organizes by project, service, or team. Inside folders are password records (also called entries), which store credentials, URLs, notes, and custom fields. You can search, copy, share, and autofill them from the browser extension.
Access to vaults and folders is usually granted through user groups, which are managed by an administrator. When you join a group, you inherit its vault permissions automatically.
What you do not need to do
As a Member, you do not configure LDAP, SSO, or email notifications. You do not create vaults unless your role explicitly allows it. If you need access to a vault or folder you cannot see, contact your department manager.
