Background tasks

Background tasks are tasks executed by Passwork in the background. For example, LDAP synchronization, favicon loading and other tasks that need time and resources to be processed.

To see the list of scheduled tasks and check the settings, go to the Background tasks section in Settings and users:

On the Tasks tab, you can view all completed and ongoing tasks and their logs, as well as filter them by type.

  1. Go to the Tasks tab
  2. Filter as needed
  3. View the list of tasks with start time, execution time and logs
  4. Delete completed tasks

Additionally, you can view the recently completed tasks by clicking on the Background tasks icon in the top panel:

Settings

On the Settings tab you can configure automatic clearing of background task history, its retention period and clear the task log manually.

If a task scheduler is set up, you will see its schedule at the bottom of the tab.

Set up scheduler

To set up background tasks, you need to configure the scheduler of the system Passwork is installed on: Cron for Linux or Windows Task Scheduler. You can find detailed info on setting up schedulers on different platforms here.
